Funding Opportunities

The Council of Mosques aims to make funding available through its projects, surplus, and through the profit of social enterprise ventures to assist its members to deliver their own projects and improve their capacity and infrastructure. Currently, the CoM has established two main funding streams to meet this end:

1. The CoM Community Chest Grants Programme 2010

Offered in partnership with the Lodnon Borough of Tower Hamlets, this grant comprises a total of £20k offered in two rounds of £10k. The aim of these grants is to encourage our member organisations to actively engage with broader sections of our community. In order to achieve this the CCGP funding will need to focus on at least one of the following four key priority areas:

  • Increase involvement of women in mosque activities, decision making and governance.
  • Increase involvement of young people in mosque activities, decision making and governance.
  • Promote community cohesion, interfaith work or dialogue.
  • Focus on tackling extremist ideology.

2. The CoM Mosque Development Fund 2010

For 2010, the CoM is able to make available grant funding of £10k to our members. This money is to be allocated over three main priority areas:

  • Education- £4K
  • Furnishing- £3K
  • Repairs- £3K
